About AJ
For those who are bored enough to read this page, then here’s a few details.
I have always had a keen interest in web design, programming languages such as VB, javascript, and originally starting off with C (remember that?).
Most of what I have learned over the years has been a process of trial and error. Luckily, I pick things up pretty quickly. If something doesn’t work, then I want to know why, and don’t stop until I find the answer.
So much has changed since I first open my HTML tutor, and began to explore a new world…..
Back then, we were on HTML 3, asp hadn’t been invented, neither had css. And video was something you just didn’t add to a website, because 99% of vistors to your site were using slow dialup connections!
But the technologies used on the web are changing at a faster pace than we could ever have imagined, back then. Server side applications are the norm now, the so called web 2.0 way of doing things has taken over. If a website isn’t interactive in some way, then you’re going to get left behind.
Social Media has taken off, although this was something I expected to happen, even as far back as 2000 (in web years, thats a hell of a long time)
Blogs such as this one have seen their glory days, I believe. They still have a part to play, but many people have found they are just too much hard work, and fall by the wayside. After all, who really wants to read the daily rants and ravings of a “nobody”?
So why have I set up a blog of my own? Well, I really need a place to post information….how many people actually see that information is irrelevant. This blog isn’t setup to MAKE money, rather to show people some of the bits and pieces I’ve learned over the years.
